"As PR and Communication team we represent the project BeWelcome to the public but also to our members. It is our responsibility to represent the idea, the spirit and the opportunities of BeWelcome in the best way and promote it to new people. We will achieve this through reliability, establishing trust, honesty and effective communication."

Team objectives

build a media platform for journalists with easy access to information and contact persons
identify and establish a trustworthy and reliable relationship to media institutions
promote the project in an ethical and appropriate way
inform and communicate BeWelcome members through the newsletter (every month, 6 weeks?)
find team members in all countries, build a strong net of coverage

Info for new volunteers

What skills / knowledge do you need to help?

motivation
reliability
experience with media work (not obligatory)
good writing skills
good team work skills
good communication skills
technical skills such as filming, flash animation (...) would be nice :)

How much time should you be able to spend on this task?

up to you
depending on what you want to work on
a few hours a week
for certain projects (e.g. designing phase) a more concentrated period of time

What needs to be done ?

collect and archive data of media contact persons worldwide
write introduction to the project
design sample stories which can be published by media
collect and make pictures with cleared rights to use
design a draft press release
design a newsletter layout, establish a newsletter team
design business cards with logo - helping travelling members to identify with the project
define and archive "corporate" design and propose promotional material such as a Power Point Presentation, Flyers, Posters (Logo, colours...)
develop introduction and feature explanation tour (flash animation)
develop welcome movie
develop short movies to all the aspects of the project such as meeting, hosting, culture exchange, families and so on
collect occurrences of BeWelcome in the media
